Why massage makes you feel good!

Most individuals are astounded by the quantity of sensation made by strain in their muscles. “I will feel that all of the way down in my feet!” That is a frequent opinion expressed on a massage table, usually mutes the face. ‘How can that work? What is happening?’

Muscle is a sensory organ

Muscle tissue is roughly half of the ordinary individuals weight (most people try to not consider another half), and it’s chock full of nerve endings. We could not even stand up with no sensory details. Yet hardly anyone understands that it is a feeling. Most of us have never heard the title for this.

Physiologists call it “proprioception.” Proprioception is the actual”sixth sense” — maybe not clairvoyance, but the very physical and real awareness of work, position and motion.

Oddly, however, the majority of individuals are not conscious of their muscles texture till they begin to hurt. If proprioception generates so much info, why are not we aware of it?

Raising sensory consciousness

We are not normally conscious of our proprioception since it’s constantly on, and there is always lots of it. It is like attempting to explain daylight in a universe in which the sun never sets or perhaps goes behind a cloud. Proprioception is only there.

We can flip the off other senses, or readily turn the volume down or up. We could close our eyes and plug in our noses. We could get more or we could touch less. Massage treatment produces a great deal of sudden and odd proprioceptive data. You can not turn your muscle pains off… however, you may give them additional stimulation, and fresh and interesting stimulation. Plus they love it!

Surprise! Novel sensory input

Your nervous system needs data. It is just like a drug.

Baby mammals, for example literally expire or develop up brain-damaged without a great deal of sensory stimulation. Their nervous systems require input so as to understand how to grow. We do not only learn about the planet through feeling — we know about our selves. The developing organism cannot specify self unless it may feel additional .

As adults, we no longer desire that input survive — but we need it to flourish. We want to entertain our perceptions. We love to touch, to be dazzled by sounds and sights, to stop and smell the roses and taste good food

It is friendly sensory surprises that the nervous system actually enjoys. You do not understand what a tasty meal will taste like before you set it in your mouth, but your body knows what your next dance move is until you get it done. The only way that you can easily surprise your proprioception is using massage with passive stimulation of your proprioceptive sense.

And we’re amazed not only by the standard of senses that massage creates, but from the amount — just as much feeling as all of the other senses combined. What a rush!

And that is the reason why we tingle from head to toe once we’re getting hitched.
